2021 Vintage Illinois in Utica, Ilinois/7 Commandments of Vintage

7 Commandments of VintageWineries

1. THERE WILL BE WAITS

This is a big festival with lots of people. Be prepared to wait in line a bit. Be surprised if you don’t. Use the time to make some new friends🙂 Please be nice to our event staff, volunteers. wineries, food vendors and their staff.

2. SIP AND GIVE THANKS

The people serving you are busting their behinds during Vintage weekend. A little tip goes a long way. A kind word will also be welcome—remember, these people are our friends and neighbors and are working hard to make your event as fun as possible.

3. DANCING IS REQUIRED

Okay, maybe not required but certainly welcome. We have a great music lineup this year, and it would be a real shame if the dance floor was empty. Dance like Elaine? Bring it on…

4. YOU REALLY SHOULD BUY WINE TO TAKE HOME

While extra purchases are not a requirement, we think it says something good about you if you show a little love to a winery going above and beyond. Many of them will offer case discounts, and we can for sure help you get that case to your car. The holidays (what?!?) will be on us before you know it, so take some #IllinoisWine home with you for the holiday season.

5. CHECK THE VINTAGE ILLINOIS WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE B4 YOU ARRIVE

The wine lists will be available on line prior to the event. With more than 2 dozen wineries you’ll want to make a game plan for the weekend. Every minute counts. Do your research before the event. We will use our Facebook page for last-minute updates, so please make sure to give us a like and a follow there before you travel to the event.

6. SOCIAL SHARING IS CARING

Mobile phone reception is expected to be a little better in Utica, but with so many people in one place it may still be tricky. So it’s best to NOT count on great reception and go from there. You can always use your phone to take photos while on the festival grounds. In this day and age, maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Take the time to enjoy the awesome music, the scenery, your friends, the food and the wine! Take lots of pictures and post them to your social accounts when you get back online.

7. YOU MUST HAVE FUN

We don’t think you need an explanation on this one.
