Clad & Cordon Vineyard
The Hill family, with roots in northern Illinois and a long-standing connection to Johnson County, has established Clad & Cordon Vineyard in Simpson, IL. David and Lindsay Hill, married since 1989 with four children, purchased the property in 2022 as empty nesters seeking a new adventure. The vineyard’s name, Clad & Cordon, represents their family: CLAD stands for their children’s initials, while Cordon refers to grapevine arms. The logo features two interlocking grapevines forming subtle C shapes, each with four spurs symbolizing the children. Despite being scattered across Illinois and Colorado, the Hill children consider the vineyard their second home and help out when possible. This venture marks a new chapter for the family, blending their agricultural heritage with a passion for winemaking.
